Okay. Well, the possibility of the stator or RR causing such a state lends a little hope that we may be on the right track. I hadn't been out there at night with it running before. I suppose, I should dig in first then, and find out for sure, which one that I need. Since I'm going in first, I'll do some DMM checks and visuals with it. So, I'm off to do some reading! Thanks Alley!

Check what the r/r is doing if it is putting out a good charge to the battery. So check the battery and what it registers when at idle. Now I do have to tell you that MOST and JUST about all scooters the Lights dim and flicker AT IDLE. But if you bring up the RPMS they brighten up and get steady. So first check if they still flicker at higher rpms. Alleyoop

Oh, okay! I get just under 13V at rest and at idle and not much difference when revving the engine. Cyborg may be right about having a iffy ground too because, no change on the flicker when I rev it up.

Yea check the wires going to the socket of the bulb, the sockets are very cheap and even on my own I had to fix my tail light sockets, one wire was completely loose and just vibrating around. THE GROUND wires for the lights are usually GREEN.
I do not like that it did not register more than 13+ when revved up that is not good really, revved up it should register 13+ if a really good R/R 14+ . Alleyoop

Yeah, what confirms for me that it's not just sockets though, is that they are ALL flickering, dash, tail and head. The sockets DID require sanding and dielectric grease on the bulb contacts when I had them open though, and one is totally out. The battery is a little discharged too, after testing yesterday and today but, point well taken about the higher RPM charge. I'll check it again after charging. I ordered the flywheel puller, couple days

Cool if all are flickering then something is not good.

Of course, I'll post my findings when I get in there. This should be interesting . I'd love to play some Triumphant tune in here, very soon!

I sure hope so for your sake, You have worked to hard on this scoot, no spark those two parts are the only two left that can effect spark. No power to the CDI or no Pickup Signal to the CDI both will cause a no spark. Alleyoop

Thanks, yes. And YOU, I must say, have worked hard here from afar ! If this weren't to work out, I'd suspect my neighbors of witchcraft, false noses or, NOT!

I've been busy job hunting and haven't kept up. So first, I hope your back has improved. And then I sure do hope you can get that little beasty working right soon. It's getting to be summer here. I wish I could be of help but I've never had a scooter so I'm lost as well.

Thank you, richardv ! I'm outta the thick woods at least, as long as I'm extra careful I have an MRI scheduled for the 25TH to get to the bottom of this (Pardon the pun! Lol!) I got my flywheel puller today so, time to get that stator out to have a look and do some testing, then most likely replace it, once I know for sure which one I have. I hope, very soon ya can get one for yourself !

Great take a picture of your stator also if any poles look burnt it is trashed. Alleyoop

"Just dropped in to see what state my stator was in..." I imagine that a full load of well aged rust on the contact points could affect operations a bit. Let the testing phase commence...

WOW!! I think maybe the culprit has been found And we was right it has a 11 poole stator. Man that picku is nothing but a rust bucket and it looks like it is pittend also the poles metal plates are all rusted as well. That would definitely create a lot of resistance and heat. Alleyoop

Right?! That's what I immediately thought when I exposed it, I grinned and thought "Alley was right , again. 11 poles!" I agree, So far, I'm not finding problems on readings, following YT vids but, that doesn't change what may be happening under operation. If I were making good enough contact consistently with this, I'd think that I would have a miracle on my hands!
