My 125cc 1988 Yamaha Riva is making loud sounds. Please tell me what it could be. Here is a video....

I hear it like something is loose, get a screwdriver and touch parts of the motor and cvt cover to pinpoint where it is coming from. The sound will get magnified to the Screwdriver handle and you will pinpoint where the noise is coming from. It could be a inside the muffler or just part of a the plastic shroud banging around. I did hear it more by the FAN so maybe the fan is hitting the cover. Alleyoop

Thanks guys. I am relieved that you don't think the noise is inside the engine block. I will keep trying to find it. I just did a 250-mile road trip without a problem despite the noise. And I only notice the noise when idling.
