Hey couple few questions again for you both sprockets the one on the axle and the one off the case appear to be the same same tooth wise. Could i put this one on the front to get better gearinging for take offs and such with no ill side effects till i do the rest of the upgrades ? Is it the right size for the chain and is the stock gearing ok with this as well www.amazon.com/Chain-Tooth-Engine-Sprocket-Wheeler/dp/B00O70IZ1USorry for link all the time I can't figure out picture thingy Also when I do the crankshaft upgrade I see it has the shafts coming out how will that work with us having a transfer case ? Thanks again

well that is the right chain size a 428 but wow!! 19 teeth that is really low end you will loose a lot of top end. If you count the teeth on the one you have it will be either 24 or 29 teeth, the one on the axle is 30 teeth. I would not put that sprocket on you will be lucky to make 40mph with that sucker on (HEHE). Its bad enough the trikes will only do 50mph at really high rpms.
I do not understand what you mean about the crankshaft Yes of course the crank comes out on the CVT side to mount the VARIATOR and on the other side the FLYWHEEL.
So what do you mean by haveing a TRANSFER CASE?? can you take a pic of what you are talking about.

That looks like you have a 29 tooth sprocket I counted half and it was 15, it is just like my trike I also noticed you or someone took out the REVERSE mechanism on top of the transfer case. The crankshaft has nothing to do with the tranny case . Let me ask do you know how motors work and CVTs work. Reason I ask is I don't know how mechanical you are. ALleyoop HERE YOU CAN SEE MY TRANSFER CASE SAME AS YOURS. And look at the SPROCKET same as mine 29 teeth. Mine came with a 24 tooth sprocket and I ordered the 29 tooth from ICE BEAR.

Yes I know how v6 4 bangers v8 work LOL all these gy6 and cvt motors are pretty new to me that's why I'm asking things before I dig in ....I'm very mechanically inclined to pull it apart and rebuild it tho ....yes yes I got the scooter the hold down fir the reverse mechanism was not there so instead of trying to use it and not know if it was adjusted correctly I just took it out temporarily.....

Ok, i do not use my Reverse there is only about 1/4-3/8 movement from reverse to forward and the cable always stretch and just a pain so I locked it just on forward and never use it but it all is still in.
That is why they stopped putting in the reverse in the 150s the people buying them were not so mechanical and it would cause a lot of problems with the reverse and forward capability.

Yeah that's what I keep hearing my self about reverse as well ill just make a plate and cover it up .....could mine be partially in reverse by chance ....how could I double check to make sure......also so I should just stick with the 30 r tooth and 29 f tooth or should one get smaller or bigger ......could I put the 39 tooth in the rear and leave the 29 in front .....would I benefit at all

Stick with the way it is 30 rear 29 front. They actually came with 24 front but people complained that it would not even get to 50mph (HAHA). So I believe early 2010 they changed the drive sprocket to 29 teeth for a couple mph on the top end. I was one of the first to get a trike I ordered mine in March of 2009 so the trike was made in 2008.
If your transfer gears are not fully meshed forward you will get a nasty SHUDDER and JUMPING when starting from a standstill. WHAT HAPPENDED to the Mechanism for forward and revers? Do you still have the mechanism that went in there? It is a shaft with a spring and fork looking piece that moves the gearing back and forth inside. It is spring loaded to put pressure in the FORWARD position.

Yup I still have the piece that goes in there but nothing was holding it down ....kinda like a distributor hold down bracket should hold it in place in I'm right ? So I took it out so it would not fall of ....any place to order the piece that holds it down

Here is what it looks like from the side. WHich part are you missing A B C etc.. The only chance you have is talk to JIM from Rapid Repair ot open the transfer case and do some mod to hold the gear in forward. Alleyoop

Ah, you have the main stuff the nut you can get at a hardware store just take the bolt to get a nut that will screw on. As you see in the picture that is the MOST FORWARD POSITION and it is SPRING LOADED IN THAT POSITION. Alleyoop
