I hope he's out having a great time, and not ill. He's so active and helpful in here that, I can't help but notice his absence. I appreciate that jokester!

Well I have been rather busy with individual business these past two months but, yes I have noticed. But because of how being nosey on other board gets negative results I try to stay private like. As you state there is some concern. He is a valued member.

Ohno, richardv ! I only meant it as a positive sentiment, not a criticism by ANY stretch. Sorry, if it came across that way! In type, as opposed to speech, tone and inflection are all lost so sometimes, it's hard to discern, I know.

I'm sorry if I insulted you or anyone. I knew you were being positive. It's just my life has been a little messy lately. And then just after posting my last comment my computer decided it was my turn to go to version 10 of Windows so, I've been messing with the results.

No worry , richardv. I didn't think you meant to insult. I Just thought I'd clarify, in case. You've always been kind. Oh no, the dreaded Windows 10! I'm sorry to hear ya had to go through that hassle! I had noticed last year how windows update had lined up precursor updates in my list to prepare my computer to be ready to install that version. New versions can always be such a nightmare and, Microsoft has gotten so haphazard about their programming that I won't trust versions until they have been tested for a while so, I unchecked the updates and "Hid" them. to prevent the install. My sister went through it too and,I understand that you can uninstall it, if you haven't already. And you can prevent it from trying to re-install it too. Did ya already work it through? Unfortunately, our lives have become so "Cyber dependent" that it sure can make them difficult when something goes wrong.

I've got most of it to work except the @live.com e-mail isn't accessible and it's the one I used the most. The Yahoo mail won't accept the password either but I very rarely used that. It seems they see this as a new computer. On another board a link to software that will make it run like version 7 is available but the Kaspersky Spy Wear won't let it download.

Oh hey, if you do have at least one email account that you divulged your phone # to, they'll let you choose to recover your password that way or, answer security questions. One thing that I've noticed is that "Caps lock" is often ON when I didn't manually choose it, and messing up the input of case sensitive passwords. When I'm dealing with a mess like Windows, sometimes I forget to check that. richardv

The company that provided the phone number discontinued it 3 years ago and MSN refused to change over to my new number or the other email after G-mail blocked the first e-mail I had with them.
As Windows keeps suggesting "Chrome" is king. I don't like it and I've had to use another one at the hospital, library and laundromat.

Ha! "Chrome is king"... I refuse to use it, since Google is so invasive of privacy. And I only keep IE on hand for Microsoft sites that wont display with any other browser.I use Startpage as my search engine homepage for privacy within Mozilla firefox. Startpage is great for privacy and sends your searches to Google for Google results but, anonymously. I highly recommend it. classic.startpage.com/I hope the mess clears up for you soon. I wonder if I could help you by allowing you to send a reset to one of my boxes, perhaps while in a P.M. together, so you could guide me with any specifics it asks for, then you could reset your password right away ?

Yea, I use IE because it's what I'm used to using. I like the Favorites Bar where I've got over two dozen of my most often visited and favorites sites just one click away. I don't mind that Google saves my previous searches, since it often saves time with new searches or re-searches. I'm always logged into Google anyway, so I know they're saving stuff.
I try not to search for any porn on this PC, since it wouldn't do for my grandkids to type in an 'A' in the Google search bar and have... something other than APPLE auto-populate or pop-up as a suggestion.
classic.startpage.com - huh? Maybe that will come in handy, should I want to do any dubious searches.
THANKS!

LOL! Sure thang! Yes, Startpage does not save any info on you. It was created in partner with Katherine Albrecht, Author of "Spy chips" (Embedded RFID), the founder of Consumers Against Supermarket Privacy Invasion and Numbering and a consumer privacy advocate. Firefox has it's version of "Favorites" as "Bookmarks" also one click "Most visited" sites. To each his own, for sure. But truly, IE is a much less secure browser for viruses, malware and such that are no stranger to porn sites. I don't care for the ads in other browsers, in addition. Since ya don't mind... may I have your credit card number? LOLOL!!!
