I am sure you will be tickled pink with it, and I fully understand your excitement. I have never met a 'R' model I didn't like.....and still think fondly of my 73, R60/5, every time I swing a leg over 'Schultz', or 'Dooley'. There is just something about a BMW that gets into your blood.
I'll stay tuned for updates

About the only way we see exotic bikes around here is passing thru. I do know one guy with a bmw and he is sold on them. It has been just to hot the last week to ride here, but 'I'm pullin for ya" I have never seen a ducati in person either.

BMW's are not exotic they were the run of the mill standard motorcycles that actually worked back in the day,,,I just watched a few YouTube videos of vintage st's and gs's running with new gs's and they were hanging right with them ,,,one of the reasons I got it,,,with a little work on the suspension it will be a great one

Hooray ! ! ! .......success. I googled BMW R80 ST, and found this page..... R80 ST ...... some interesting facts there, not that many of them made, and only about a thousand made it to our shores. Nice bike Cyborg..... take good care of that "sweetie"

Yea as I understand it there weren't that many made but the differences are basically cosmetic,,,so engine and drivetrain are standard fare,,,and I researched the bike before I bought it,,,even the exhaust is available as are body panels so I'm good,,,had a few "exotics" that were very difficult to get parts for,,,,a true nightmare
