I'd like to thank everyone who has given me info on my Jmstar 250 SSR. But I recently found out that I have to have the lower half of my spine fused as the result of a blown disc back in 1980. So my riding days have just ended. If I find anyone needs scooter info, you can be sure this forum will be referred to. Such a shame, I was looking forward to riding it. On the up side, I still have my pickup truck. LOL.

Before you totally give up on riding try a ride on a dirt bike with the long suspension set soft. I have a bad back and the majesty scooter I was riding was killing my back. Picked up a klx250, set the 9" travel shocks for soft and problem gone.
A scooter can not ride easy and soft because of the way the engine has to move when the rear hits a bump.
I believe they call dirt bikes bikes with street tires motards. Kawasaki has a klx in that configuration, so do the chinese. They usually have slightly smaller wheels to give a better selection of street tires. A 17" rear instead of a 18".

My short term plans are to continue to get it to work correctly. It runs real hot and I have to jump the starter seloniod to start it and pull the plug to turn it off. Maybe, just maybe I'll ride it next year. I really don't plan on selling it. It's my wife that has plans on what to spend the proceeds on. Again thanks to all.
