I have been having problems with the scooter where I will write it for a couple hours and then it won't start.

Anybody tell me if this scooter has a alternator or does it does Just run off the battery.

sort of a alternator . The flywheel contains magnets, under it are coils that make ac, they are fed out to a rectifier/regulator which changes the ac to dc and regulates it. This provides charging voltage to the battery. You will need to get a multimeter to trouble shoot. In our library are generic diagrams to go by. A 12 volt battery is 12.6 at rest and depending on the strength of charging source it will have toward 14 volts when the engine is at highway speeds. Your problem can come from bad connections especially at the plugs where the various wires connect together. Bad grounds are also common. In the library you will find where to check and what voltage to expect./

Can you be a little more descriptive of the problem. Is it just a no start hot?

Yea if the battery is still up then its the valves when it does not start hot. I would help if we knew what was checked. For the most part new people do need to read about a pdi and some of the other things in the library.
