I recently lost spark on my Wildfire 150-s well I was mowing it was pretty hot I let my 13 yr old nephew ride it around now that I got my new 250 he just cruised around circle of house real slow then was coming back around and it died he probably was riding it slow for an hr and I first checked fuse then checked for spark was none Im thinking its the coil it felt pretty hot think with it being air cooled It got too hot with how slow he was riding less then 10mph at most maybe just putting around the house any other ideas on what it could be CDI seems fine when I removed fuse had nothing with fuse got cranking and turn signals horn everything but no spark just put new stator and regulator on last summer any ideas should I just buy new coil? still a nice scoot with 7600 miles and a 2005

It's been said so many times but check your killswitch; the kid could have bumped it getting off. These things most of the time just kill the spark and dim the headlights which you won't see during the day. It'll still turn over with the starter, oh sure....it'll do that! Can you tell I've been through it more than once? Then yes, if it's not the switch it's probably the coil; I keep spares on hand for testing, also a CDI. They're easy to swap out and then you've ruled that in or out. Plugs go bad too, swap that out. Here's an involved diagnostic if all else fails: NO SPARK DIAGNOSTICSRich

Thanks Rich its still cranking over and I tried multiple plugs and also took the fuse to the cdi out and wouldnt crank or anything so I think cdi is fine so ordering a new coil for about 30$ shouldnt hurt. read somewhere that if it gets hot u can lose spark then let it cool back down and try and it might be back I figured if coil was burnt it was burnt think I will just order new coil and start there switch still good and pretty sure cdi is or else I wouldnt think it would even crank and still have signals and gauges? But I guess its been a month so I will check to see if somehow sparks back now that its cooled? worth a try:)

Man...$30.00 is high for a coil unless you're getting a red high performance which you don't need. Check with some of our banner vendors, I think I paid $20.00 for an orange high performance with Scrappy. I think he also sells blacks for ten bucks. Rich

yeah I need to get out and check things all over better. just since it lost spark I just put in the shed but the wildfire 150s has no kill switch which I didnt think is right but u have to turn key off no emergency kill switch like my Bali 250 has and the coil was like 21$ through Wildfire Motors and think about 10$ S&H charge

It has been my impression that a kill switch is about saftey and is required by the feds. I been wrong once or twice though. but it is a wildfire. john

Hey, listen, I'm not trying to be mean here, but my wife reminded me of this while we were eating lunch and I was talking about things on the forum. Here is a picture of my brother-in-law working on my sister-in-law's Wildfire while we were on a ride up in Toledo over the fourth of July. The coil went out and she lost spark. He zip tied a spare I had into place and off we went!

yeah I thought it was a little unsafe without the kill switch by the handelgrips but It just has the key! Guess thats Wildfire its a good running scooter but I have put alot into it to get it running good! Still got for a good price and was a good first scooter but dont even compare to the Bali 250! Figure it would serve someone good or just be a toy to play with and keep the 250 for my commuting

we have seen a lot of pickup coils (the little hall switch) on the magneto go bad when hot - unable to send spark signal to coil.
