Hey All,
I have restored a 2007 50cc Gy6 Chinese scooter (ROKETA) and it is idling perfect at this point. However, when i take it out and "gun it" to get up speed, it bogs down and eventually kills.
Am I flooding it with too much gas? Is there something I should focus my attention on when trying to fix this?
The main change I've made lately is going to a performance air filter and removed my old "box on the side" air filter. Does that have anything to do with it? (too much air to gas ratio??)
Any help is much appreciated.

Vacuum lines should be checked. I had a similar problem years ago and it was a vacuum leak.

The Carb on your GY6 requires sufficient vacuum, at the intake side, to activate the slide for the primary circuit to open. Changeing the air intake dynamics can alter the vacuum to the point where the primary slide won't open above midrange causing the engine to choke out.
