Man had a great weekend planned. Go the new Battery on Wed. Charged up. My Dad gets down last night with my scooter and his on the Trailer. Got new valve stems put on front and back after Flat tire last Saturday. So put new battery in and go out for a little spin. As soon as I started out I new something was not right felt like a tire was out of balance had a heck of a shake to it. Well Put it up on the Lift and start taking a look at the tires and the Back tire has a Bulge in it off set from center and making the tire of of Round. So much for going for a nice scooter ride this weekend and doing some Caching. Instead I had to order another NEW tire. Oh the tire that did this was Less than 2 months old.. Ordered up a new Michilan will be in Wed so should have scoot back by next Wed.
I did manage to get my Volt meter installed. Oh and I had been haveing problems with every time I turned a tight left my motor would Die. So while installing the Volt meter I tracked down that problem Seems that they zip tied the the wires for to the front forks and at the top there is a real sharp edge that cut through the insulation to a wire and every time I would turn it would short out and kill my scoot. Got that all taken care of re routed so not all is good and can not even to out for a nice ride.. :-(

Todd,
Wow, I cannot believe the bad run you are experiencing. I'm counting on you to give some up to date reports on the Oregon Motorcycle R/R now that you have the on board voltmeter. I picked up a radiator/fan set from eBay for $40 which is a duplicate of my (our) scoot. Now I'm going to have to figure out how to mount the radiator and maybe give some additional airflow. Otherwise, the scoot's OK maybe because I have no reason to go for longer rides. I like riding in cooler weather. I replaced my air valve stems with metal ones as part of my PDI. I hope you have some smooth scootin' once you replace the tire.
I take a break from scooter problems by playing with my motorized bike. It's a lot simpler and I know what every wire is doing since I put them in myself - and there is no charging system or radiator. ;D

Belive me I know the Valve stem thing. Heck I did not have a chance for a Valve stem to go out before I replaced them as the Crappy tires that came on my scooter had dry rot in them and went flat. So when I got the new Tires I got new Valve stems. Seems that the guy I bought the stems from got a bad batch of them on top of the crappy rough edges on the wheel casts did not help. My dad had the same stems. Between us we had 4 of them valve stems go bad. We now have ones that bolt into the rim at 17 bucks a piece the should never ware out. Well As soon as I can get some Riding time in I can start monitoring and giveing updates on the OMP Reg. I am also going to be doing Testing on KidNme's new CDI/HO Coil combo proto type also. I am Running his current HO unit right now. It so far is running great. I have it paired up with an Iridium plug and it does seem to have a bit more pep but have only put about 80 miles on it since it got installed. If all goes well in a couple of weeks we will be going from My place to West Bend Wisconsin it is about 140 miles one way. I would like to do the trip on scooters. I am crossing my fingers that all will be well with the scooters...

Well, I know all of that was a pain in the posterior, but I must say you did a quick diagnosis and fix on the wiring problem; kudos on that! I'm having some tire issues myself, I think these smaller tires wear unevenly and don't balance well. I'm going to look into that area and try some Dyna-beads as Dr. JR suggested. Of course that wouldn't help a bulge, only dinero can help that. Rich
