I have been working on this scooter that has been sitting for a couple of years. Pulled the carburetor and cleaned it, thoroughly. Idle jet was a little clogged, but all else seemed good. Float needle valve moved freely. I tried to start it for the first time, today, and fuel was leaking from the carburetor drain hose. This hose was cut off when I bought the scooter, so I just replaced it with a length of fuel hose. There is no screw to open or close the drain, as far as I could see. I've read that some of these carburetor drain hoses actually hook up to some sort of port. Mine is just hanging freely. I realize that the valve may not be seating completely, but all seemed good when I cleaned it. Any thoughts? Thanks, in advance!

Was that piece attached to the scooter somewhere, or just hanging loose? I'm guessing that it is some sort of remote bowl drain. I haven't seen anything that looks like that part, but I'll have to look more closely, tomorrow. Can I just plug up that hose? Will that harm anything?

It was at the end of the line connected to the cvt cover.
I think I typed carb drain valve to find it

Thanks. I actually found the carb drain valve still attached to the underside of the scooter. I cleaned the carb, started it up, and saw a small gas leak. Turned it off so that I could get to the other side and inspect it closer. Went to start it, and nothing! Brake lights and turn signals work, but it won't crank at all! Battery is new, and the 2 battery fuses look ok. I don't know where to even begin!

WEll, I gave up. Had to run some errands, so I came back after about an hour or so, and it fired up right away. Maybe some of the leaked fuel dripped down and caused a temporary short or something....I have no idea, because it wouldn't even click! Good news is it is running, and I managed to find the leak! Thanks for the help!
