Is it possible to completely bypass the charcoal canister on my scooter? If so, what do I do with the lines that currently connect to it? It has 2 lines connected to the bottom of the canister, and 2 lines connected to the top.

Go into the library section ,,there's a step by step procedure to remove all of the emissions equipment correctly,,,,(not that we condone that sort of thing )

I've checked the library section, and can't seem to find any step by step instructions for removing emissions equipment. Could you point me a little closer to the location within the library? Sorry for the trouble!

I think I finally found the instructions for removing or bypassing the emissions, but the photos don't show up. Photobucket wants me to pay $400 for third party hosting in order to see the photos. Any way around this?

You tube is a huge source of info on the Chinese gy6 based scooter,,, manuals are non existent,,,and all manufacturers make them differently,,,especially the wiring,,,,so take your time when you work on that thing,,,don’t go rippin into it

Well, I've watched hours and hours of video and looked at tons of diagrams on the subject....just wanted to make sure that I didn't mess anything up. I plugged up the hose coming from the intake manifold going to the canister. I put a fuel filter on the gas tank vent hose, and left the large hose from the air box open. I put a fuel filter on the valve cover hose, and mounted it up higher than the valve cover. I was then able to remove the canister, which had been zip-tied on because the rubber mount had cracked. Everything else was left in place. It seems to run fine, with no bogging down or hesitation. Thanks, everyone, for the help!

the hose from the valve cover needs to stay, it's important to venting your crankcase, don't change the airbox or it's connections it runs best with the stock airbox, post some pictures please

As soon as I can open the scooter up again, I'll take pictures. I've had trouble uploading pictures here, but I'll give it a shot! Thanks! Also, I put a fuel filter in the hose coming from the valve cover, and mounted it higher than the valve cover, itself. I got this tip from 2 different sites.

The emissions control gadjets on the gy6 has changed over the years so if your scoot is a fairly recent model the videos won’t show you how to get rid of your excess bits. Just watch the videos to get a basic idea of what’s what and then “wing it”. It’s a simpler system these days.

Now that the canister has been removed and lines routed as in the pictures above, I find that the only issue that I have is a slight hesitation upon takeoff....It just lasts a second, and then the scooter gains speed as normal. Any thoughts? Anything you would do differently according to my photos? Thanks!

All of the above changes have been made in order to remove the charcoal canister (it was falling apart). Now, the scooter has a slight hesitation right after full throttle.....sort of a quick drop in rpm, and then gradually builds back up to speed. Any thoughts? Thanks!
