After I had the directional signals fixed on the Honda Nighthawk 250 I had a few things to fix myself to get it through a NYS Inspection. All done and the bike is now totally roadworthy. I hope to be ripping around the countryside from now on. I also had the big Kawasaki inspected at the same time. It has a little more weight and power than the Nighthawk, Can you say Vrooom!

NICE JIM!! So all in what's the total out the door on that bike? You did not break $1000 did you? I didn't keep track or tally but if memory serves you're in $8-900 correct?

About a grand altogether. It's been fun getting it rolling and reminds me of the W650 but smaller and much more satisfying. It has a throaty sound and pulls pretty good for 233cc. I like it.

Not too shabby for a great bike,,, I’d prefer that over a rebel any day,, but I’d take a rebel too if the sellers didn’t want my right arm and left nut too

Ready for this? I took the bike out for a short run Friday and went for gas. A young man walked up to me and asked if it was for sale. I'm going to have to go out in the dark.

Nah. I was just surprised. Besides he had a snowmobile on a trailer and I'll bet his wife might have had something to say about it.

Hey Jim!!! Did the little darling pass inspection? Funny story there. The place I took it usually checks the usual so I made double sure everything was working and up to snuff. He knows me now so he basically just walked around it and looked it over. It has a shiny NY Inspection sticker and is totally legal. I discovered how rusty I've gotten with bikes though. After years of riding rear engined scooters or Rebel cruisers this bike takes me back to my roots. It's taken me a little while but I find myself leaning more and diving deeper into turns with confidence. It accelerates off the corners with more conviction than my 250cc scooter too. Every ride is a chance to hone those skills that have been dormant. It's been great fun.

It was a short run but I took the bike out for a twenty-two mile ride on the local twisties. Even with its twenty-seven year old suspension the bike is incredibly toss able. I could confidently power through curves just by following my eyeballs. I have to find a poker run or something to give it a longer run.
