Ouch! Hopefully that’s not what my buddy did. He said he’s got the motor out & was going to start disassembling it tonight. Shouldn’t be long before we find out if he warped it or got really lucky.

Ok great on the pictures. wow that rocker assy, is jacked, the studs are junk for sure and enjoying a base gasket leak. I hope the metal around those studs is not drawn up preventing even with new studs and gasket to leak.. Time to take that top end down. Good Luck! Yeah the rocker assembly surprised me too when I saw it. He claims that his torque wrench never clicked at the set amount and kept going til it snapped. I think he’s planning on getting the gasket kit in the next couple of days. As soon as he has it taken apart I’ll let ya know how bad it looks. I’m just glad it wasn’t my scoot lol Solymar

It was leaking from the crack between the two parts of the motor (middle of the picture circle), this is where I really thought it smelled like gear oil. Also leaking from behind the motor shroud (upper right circle)...a little higher up, most likely where the cylinder meets the bottom part of the motor. I could be wrong about it being gear oil, but it had Stronger odor than the oil from valve area. Solymar

Thanks czmdiver. He actually broke the rocker assembly, not the stud (my fault, I saw that I wasn’t clear on that). I think your probably correct tho, he lifted the base of the cylinder up & created a leak.
In doing that, somehow he also created a leak coming from the front of the cvt (where it connects to the motor). It’s definitely leaking gear oil, you could smell it....I personally hate the smell of gear oil, so I was able to tell quickly.
I’ll definitely advise him about replacing the studs with Taida ones, I think that’s a good call.
I’ll get some pictures from him & do my best to post them when he gets home from work tonight.

We would need info like make, model & year of the scooter. Pictures would make identifying them even easier.

Imo, any other than stock would help airflow. It’s kinda a matter of personal taste... size, color & price. Just beware that a some of the universal ones are not just bolt n go. Many of them require some effort/modifications to get them to fit.
Also, remember to upjet your carb after doing an exhaust upgrade.

I was hanging out with a friend today as he was doing a cam swap on his tao tao powermax 150cc. While I went on a beer run, he put on the rocker assembly. He somehow (I can only assume) over torqued one of the nuts on the assembly and broke it. It seems by doing this he did something ( I honestly don’t know what) that caused his gear oil to start leaking near the exhaust pipe (towards the front of the cvt area) under the engine.
I’ve personally never encountered this kind of problem. I’m wondering if anyone knows what he might have done & how it can be fixed?
I’ve looked on line for any videos that might help, the pickins are slim to none. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What are the rpms when you get to that speed?
Is it bogging or in some other way feel like it’s being restricted?
Have you checked the rollers/sliders?

And?
Unless you plan on adding some actual & factual information, this was a waste of you time & our time...but I’m guessing that was the point.

Most of the chinese 150cc scooters are very similar in design. I found this video on YouTube that hopefully will help.
If your scooter isn’t so similar, try posting pictures and one of our members should be able to help more.
