I just installed a motor on my 2013 Taotao EVO 150 that I rebuilt and was told to leave the valves a little loose at 1st until everything seats . The scoot starts super easy and idles smooth and stable at about 1800-1900, she accelerates quick and runs strong, but she does have a little valve tick( I put the Intake at .020" and exhaust at .024) I am told they need to be at .004 for Intake and .006 for exhaust...
It's been about 25 miles since I did the engine swap and rebuild, do you think it's time to tighten them up ?

It wouldn't hurt to check. .004 and .006 is a good set of specs and you shouldn't hear a lot of ticking.

Okay I guess I will go ahead and set them to Specs, I just wanted to make sure I didn't jump the gun and do it too early and bend something. Because truthfully I've never had or seen a scooter start so easy...it's like baby touch to the button and poof she's running...almost like if you were turning a pedal by hand and it just coast back around and its running.

Ok your on the right track. That is Really bad advice anyone who told you to set the Valves that loose. you won't bend anything even with Zero lash.. Good luck and Carry on
