so i bought a bore kit to upgrade the 50cc i got. installed it all good. went to electric start it, the crank would turn once, then stop for a second, turn again, then stop. i did this twice and now the electric start makes a buzzing sound and nothing moves. the kick start now has no tension to it. so i took the cylinders apart, found i had a torn gasket. would that cause these things to happen or did i mess up extremely badly. also, i found that i had a hose coming from the kickstart, no idea where it plugs into.

Sounds like you put it together ok except for the gasket,,sometimes the higher compression of the new kit will give the starter a hard time to turn it over,,,that buzzing sound was the solenoid,,,reassemble it again with a new gasket and charge your battery all the way then give it another go

Mine stumbles when starting now that I did a big bore kit. Stock battery isn't the best quality either so it don't have it in it to crank the higher compression. Once it goes dead good luck kick starting it.....😂

so yea, replaced the gasket, put everything back together. the battery died on me, cant even get the horn to honk anymore. and i tried for atleast 10 minutes to kickstart it. it had tension and all that, but i got too tired after while. just gotta wait for a new battery and hope thats the last issue.

Yea that can be and is a large factor on scooters not running well,,,the charging systems on most scooters is marginal at best,,,doing a bunch of short rides can run the battery down
