I have a 2008 Roketa MC-74 150cc scooter that I ordered from Sunny Sports in Chino California, mine came with all the emission control junk on it and I would really like to get rid of all of it I can, they don't check any of that stuff here in Texas and I know that it normally take power away from anything that it's on, I notice that most all of the pics of the engines I've seen on this forum only show the PCV fitting coming out of the valve cover and not that many engines with the EGR Valve set-up like mine.
Any good advice on how to get rid of this junk will be much appreciated, I want to get all I can get out of my scooter, Power, MPG, ect. Thanks in advance, Shan

There are a couple of different EGR systems that I have seen. if you have the head with a chrome pipe bolted to it I just cut the pipe even with the flange that bolts on and weld the hole shut in the flange and re install. The rest you can strip out just be sure to plug the vacume lines.

Thanks, I have not looked at it all very closely yet but mine does have the chrome tube for the Exhaust Gas Recirculation.

if you have that type of EGR system it will be on the valve cover close to the exhaust valve.

The guy I talked to about this said you have to get rid of everything and bolt a plate on the head. The reason for this is that the tube keeps setting on resonances that interfere with the exhaust. So I pulled it all off,(there's a reed valve in that box thingie): Blocked it at the head: Everything else came out and I blocked the right vac supply. Rich

Has anyone here, that has removed all the emissions stuff noticed any HP/excel./top speed gains that can really be felt or seen, or is it mainly just an improved MPG mod. on these scooters?

The only improvement I have noticed is the exhaust runs a little cooler. Mostly it just cleans up the engine compartment and leaves you with one less thing to go wrong.
