Hello all,
Newby here to this forum, so please forgive any missteps. We have an Ice Bear PST150C trike that we need to replace the brake disk and rear sprocket. This obviously means that we need to drop the differential out of the main axle housing. This has proven so far to be impossible.
We have the wheels and hubs off. We have removed the grease seals. We have removed the large C-clips that appear to be retaining the axle bearings. However, we have been unable to get the axle to budge. We have grabbed ahold of it by way of some thick washers underneath the castle nut and whacked the tar out of it with a slide hammer. Neither axle will budge.
Is there something else that is keeping the axles from coming out? It seems that removing the C-clips should be all that is needed, but there seems to be something else keeping them in. Are they just being incredibly stubborn or is there something that I have overlooked?
Thank you for any input you have give. Much appreciated.

Hello, I own an 2015 Ice bear PST150-19N trike. Not sure is my rear-end is the same. There are 6 long bolts in my LSD hub that hold on both the sprocket and brake rotor. Trike broke yesterday 1/4 mile from home and I pushed it. Decided it was just easier to remove the whole rear-end. Got to where you are. I put both washers back on the axle stub and ran the large nut down about 1/2". I grabbed a large, long punch and a hammer. I cleaned all the grease out of the ends of the axle tubes. I placed the punch on the inside of the 2 washers and started delivering firm blows with the hammer. Slowly the axle started coming out. About every 3 blows I would rotate the axle housing. It took about 30 blows per side to remove each axle. It's the axle roller bearing at the outer mouth of the axle housing tube that is causing the friction. Once you have removed the axles, the LSD wants to drop out. No oil or grease will pour out of the axle tubes. The LSD is packed with a white grease viscous material. Once the LSD and spider gears are out, you will find both the sprocket and brake rotor are pressed into bearing hubs. You need to press the hubs apart to replace the rotor and sprocket. I highly recommend replacing all 6 long bolts that hold the LSD housing together. Mine all broke. I will be pressing my hubs apart tomorrow, required for bolt replacement. Will post pics.

Yeah, if you have pictures that would be a great help. I learned that I should disengage the emergency brake before riding it.

Hello everyone. Newbie here. I bought a 150cc 2022 icebear trike. Just wondering where i might find a few parts like the front and rear brake pads, different sprokets for the chain drive portion. I plan on changing the variator and slides/rollers, the clutch and getting a different exhaust. Any of you pros recommend certain items or best parts to buy?
