Hello all,
Newby here to this forum, so please forgive any missteps. We have an Ice Bear PST150C trike that we need to replace the brake disk and rear sprocket. This obviously means that we need to drop the differential out of the main axle housing. This has proven so far to be impossible.
We have the wheels and hubs off. We have removed the grease seals. We have removed the large C-clips that appear to be retaining the axle bearings. However, we have been unable to get the axle to budge. We have grabbed ahold of it by way of some thick washers underneath the castle nut and whacked the tar out of it with a slide hammer. Neither axle will budge.
Is there something else that is keeping the axles from coming out? It seems that removing the C-clips should be all that is needed, but there seems to be something else keeping them in. Are they just being incredibly stubborn or is there something that I have overlooked?
Thank you for any input you have give. Much appreciated.
