Hello:
We have a Carter Talon DXL 150. We installed a new GY6 engine with an 11 pole stator and 7 wire rectifier/regulator. Engine starts easily. We're not getting charging voltage at the battery with the engine running. We can get charging voltage (13v+) all the way to the fuse holder, but only if the charging wire is disconnected at the solenoid. Once this wire is disconnected at the solenoid, we can get the full voltage at the end of this cable. Once this wire is connected to the solenoid the charging voltage drops. Any insight on why we can't get the full charging voltage to the battery? Thanks!
stator -> rectifier -> harness -> charging wire -> fuse -> solenoid -> battery

Yes, the starter solenoid/relay.

You might check and see if the solenoid is grounded properly. If not the solenoid may become a resistor. But that's just a guess.
