Hi. I’ve got no spark after replacing cdi, coil, stater, plug. When I test the cdi wire going to the coil it has 50v, but when I plug it into the coil and test it I get 0v. I’ve double checked all my ground wires & everything. Am I supposed to have continuity between the 2 coil tabs when the wires are connected to it? Because I do. The wires don’t have continuity until I connect them to the coil. I’ve ran the coil ground from the battery to be sure it’s good. And my cdi is the blue one with a light on it. If the light is pulsing when I try to start it does that mean it’s for sure working? And I’ve cut the kill switch wire. All my ohm’s tests are good on everything. This is my 3rd ignition coil too. What am I missing? Please help.

I have over 60v on the red wire going to the cdi, but I don't think the fact that you have only 50v is the issue.
I've done ohm tests on every one of those ignition parts and been baffled numerous times by parts out of spec that worked and parts in spec that didn't. the shop manuals for these gy6's could be wrong too. those tests can't hurt, but the bottom line is, if you have good spark, the engine can run. I hope you didn't throw away the old parts. it's just as efficient to swap parts than to diagnose IMO. it's never a good idea to swap a bunch of things. swap one thing and test. now you know that part is good (or bad). those coils are notorious for coming off the spark plug. the cap to the wire, the plug wire to the coil, and the two wires that go on the coil are all common coil problems. I DO think there is a certain amount of resistance in the coil. if it's totally open or shorted it won't work.

fyi I forgot to mention that I can't see the spark on my gy6 unless it's dark outside.

Ok, when I test the 2 wires unconnected that go to the ignition coil I get between 40 to 55 volts. But when I hook them to the coil I get 0 volts. That should mean the cool is bad. But I’ve tried 3 & it’s the same on all. Also when I test the coil without the ground wire hooked up I get 50 volts. But that ground wire is good. I’m so confused. I really hope someone has ran I to this problem also and can help me. What else is there to troubleshoot?
