One thing that may be skewing my roller upgrade results, is that the stock rollers had some major flat spots.

I went from 17g to 14 sliders and it put me right in the sweet zone. A longer belt can help get a few mph on the top end but if your already at the max that the variator will travel then you will loose a couple mph because the longer belt will not be pulled as deep into the clutch pulley. Same thing with the sliders giving ya top end. They are only going to help with top end mph if the variator can still travel past what it was already doing. Someone really needs to do a tutorial or something about the weights. If all you do is change the weights its only going to change the rpm range that the variator shifts at. It doesnt affect top end unless your weights are too light and doesn't fully shift.

I don't know if my variator has any more travel in it or not. A longer belt is cheap enough to try out anyway. Someone really needs to do a tutorial or something about the weights. Sounds like a job for you Zug.

OK, so what is the "practical" difference between 11 gram rollers and 11 gram sliders? I am running an 842 belt right now and it goes as high on the vari as I am comfortable with. I am running a mix that is the total equivalent of 11g rollers and am consideriing the sliders. I am going to order them from ScrappyDog and was thinking either 10g sliders or 11g ones, I need about 500 RPM's (or so) more on the top end and am looking for the best option.

I believe I will go with the 10g sliders and will report back!
