I was just wondering, if some Chinese designer somewhere could take credit for the 150cc sport scooter body every scooter mfg/distributor is copying.

Here's Wikipedia's take on the whole thing. It looks like the Italians got it started and then the Asians eventually copied it.......how unusual . Rich

Lemme go at this from different angle.
Which forum member has (or had) the oldest (among the membership) Chinese scooter?

yup, mine was very similar. the wards "nassua" didn't have a few of the amenity's! I had a d cell for the horn! No storage battery for lights either hence the d cell for horn. no turn signals either. Wards just like walmart today had special models made on the cheeep. but was a twist and go just like the 3 scooters I have today. mine was baby schidt yellow with white trim. will have to watch and see what that goes for. also at the time I thought mine was a 165, but looking at what I found on the internet it was probably a 125cc. while in high school my soon to be wife/exwife liked riding but the rear seat was not comfortable and had a bent rod for a handle to grab behind the driver. I filled up for free mostly at a gas station a block from the house at night, drained his hoses. 3-4 hoses would fill it up! it had it's rod thru the crank case when I left for the navy and my old man disposed of it while I was gone. mine was like the one on the left. I found this picture on the internet. john
