Header pipe and muffler « Thread Started Today at 3:33pm »
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So after installing the variator, sliders, clutch spring CDI and coil I now need to find a header pipe and muffler to complete the build. I have seen the article on the "supertrapp muffler" but I can not find information on the header pipe. What do I need to tell the parts supplier to get the muffler and pipe that will fit and work on the Icebear trikes? Mine is the 150-9 trike. I ordered the performance parts from Scrappy Dog Scooters and the muffler they sent was way to big. I know the muffler has to be a free flow @12" long. But what about the header pipe what do I order or tell them to get me the correct parts?
Just FYI I took my trike in to a local repair shop to have the carb rejetted. I was not ready to tackle the carb yet. They took 4 hour of labor to disassemble R&R carb and put it back together. Costly repair but the take off and pulling really came to life. The other thing the master mechanic told me was to over inflate the rear tires to about 60 -70 lbs of air. This will decrease the wheel drag he said. What do you think? good advise or not?
Well hopefully I will get my trike to do 55+ so I can get on the highway without getting run over. I am getting closer. thanks for the groups input. Pics coming soon. Thanks again. Triker98304

WOW!! 4 hours to re-jet hope their hourly rate were like $20.00 bucks.
Anyways if your trike currently does not do near 55mph then you must have the 24 tooth front sprocket. You can order the 29 tooth front sprocket for more top end.
They must be crazy to suggestion to inflate your tires to 60-70lbs, when the tires heat up they can blow the seal right off the Rim and you will be in an Accident(DO NOT DO THAT PLEASE).
As far as Muffler and Header pipe, there are no Performance Mufflers or EVEN REPLACEMENTs for them. Thats why I got the Supertrapp Muffler and had a Header 1 1/4" OD Header Pipe Made. The header pipe that they come with are 1" OD. But you can just get the A Muffler and make sure it has a 2 1/2" Intake so that your Orginal Header Pipe fits INSIDE the Muffler Intake which is better than how they come. They come with the Header Pipe Fitting OUTSIDE the Muffler Intake and they leak right there. Hope this helps, Alleyoop
