Skytex You might try cleaning the front brake disc. Sometimes the road oil gets on them and causes a squeak. Next take the pads off and check for hot spots like you get on your car when they overheat. Here in the mountains I check mine often. Triker98304

::)I got a little trailer from Harbor Freight. It rolls OK behind the trike and at least i can go to the grocery store and get a few bags home. Not as fancy as the Hitch carrier of Wildman's, but it works. What do you think? Attachments:

Thanks Alley, The Castle nut is now tight with a cotter key thru the axle. Will get the hose clamps today and see if I get this thing rolling down the road again...

5/13/02011, I got the trike started and it would not move. engine fired right off and it ran. Took the variator and belt off. All that looks ok. Pulled the clutch off and found the clutch spring rusted to the clutch bell housing. While the trike was up on the jack I checked the tires and the pass side rear tire had side motion...NOT GOOD. Pulled the tire and found that a cotter key to hold the axle nut was missing...both sides. Does any one know the torque for the axle nuts? for now I tightened them with an impact wrench so there is no movement on the hub. Thought I'd change the fuel filter but I did not have the proper hose clamps. I will change the engine oil and tranny grease and hopefully get riding again...Tomorrow is another day Right! Ya-all ride safe. Triker98304

leatherandflames Here is a repeat of what I found. I bought an inexpensive alarm off ebay. It was about $20.00. I wrote to the seller and ask if the 09 Icebear trike model 150-9 had a plug in for alarm to simply plug into. They said it did, although some members said that was not true, they were correct. I found the plug up over the headlight. Plugged in the alarm and it has worked great for 8 months now. The one i got has an off mode so it does not drain the battery in the garage. On the street I leave it armed. The one I purchased had an immobilizer on it. For $20.00 can not complain. Tonight on ebay they have the " NEW Alarm Security Immobilizer Motorcycle Bike Scooter " I would write to the seller and make sure they know it will fit the IB trike.... Sorry I can not give you the make and model... Hope this helps...Triker98304. Read more: www.scooterdoc.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=trike&action=display&thread=2864#ixzz1LaQGm4hH

Fellow Trikers I have a question. I am thinking about more speed for my Icebear trike 150-9. Instead of a big bore kit does anyone know the specs on the performance 200cc engine Scrappydog sells. I mean what is the real cc, horsepower, torque and expected top end speed on a trike? What bore, what cam and all the nitty gritty to make it truly a "performance engine". Does anyone know?
I have seen 200cc engines for $500.00 and $1400.000 so there must be some major differences. But the $500 engine if it is really a "performance engine" should increase the speed. And if done correctly what else would be required to get 60-65 mph? Carb 30mm, bigger tires and what else? Any thoughts?
Soon it will be spring, (soon as the snow melts and the temp gets above 32) it'll be time to ride again. Now is the time to dream! and get info ;D

I saw this on ebay...ANY GOOD??? kingstarscooters feather weight shorty race exhaust blue alloy/reg tip This Exhaust is much lighter and will provide your scooter with better performance! Fits on many models of 150cc Gy6 Scooters, It will also work great w/ Go-Karts, Atvs, & Buggies 150cc but since the header pipe is designed for 150cc gy6 scooters there may be a need to modify the header or it can be welded. they look incredible on gy6 Ruckus swaps Only 7" no more taking risks to cut down your race pipe these were made this way no cutting These pipes have a 2" opening perfect for performance everything is included, mounting pipe gasket ring , clamp killer price only 119.99+ 10.99shipping cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130469967829&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AITWondering if these were any good. How much will Wildman's system sell for? Triker98304

leatherandflames No problem installing an alarm. The link Alleyoop gave you will give you some information. If you are going to leave the trike parked for an extended time you might want to install an on/off switch to disable the alarm so it does not drain the battery. A toggle switch will work. As far as the radio goes check out the Amazon.ccom and e-bay.com under motorcycle radios. I got the Shark Motorcycle radio MSA/200. The basic install was no problem. Soon as the snow melts and the freezing rain stops I will get some pictures and post them. Glad to have another triker on the forum. Any questions pm me. Have a safe ride. Triker98304
