Well I hope the Clang was just something in the CVT and not the Tranny Gears.
Does your Trike have a REVERSE?
So take the CVT cover off and HOPE its the Clutch. What kind of belts are you buying that they are MELTING? Lefty

When it started did you rev it enough to engage the belt?/ Make sure the cvt rollers did not stick...
I could use another Magnum..

5/13/02011, I got the trike started and it would not move. engine fired right off and it ran. Took the variator and belt off. All that looks ok. Pulled the clutch off and found the clutch spring rusted to the clutch bell housing. While the trike was up on the jack I checked the tires and the pass side rear tire had side motion...NOT GOOD. Pulled the tire and found that a cotter key to hold the axle nut was missing...both sides. Does any one know the torque for the axle nuts? for now I tightened them with an impact wrench so there is no movement on the hub. Thought I'd change the fuel filter but I did not have the proper hose clamps. I will change the engine oil and tranny grease and hopefully get riding again...Tomorrow is another day Right! Ya-all ride safe. Triker98304

Triker98304, You tighten the Castle Nuts so that the Hub does not move on the Axle and Make sure a Castle Nut SLOT lines up witht he HOle in the Axle so that the Cotter pin goes into the Slot of the Castle nut and the hole. That is the only thing that keeps the Castle Nut from coming loose. Alleyoop

Thanks Alley, The Castle nut is now tight with a cotter key thru the axle. Will get the hose clamps today and see if I get this thing rolling down the road again...
