Pa ABATE had a bit in the September newsletter related to a new license endorsement for trikes.
The article states that effective 6/26/10, "Pennsylvania motorcyclists who pass the motorcycle skills evaluation on a 3-wheeled motorcycle will receive a Class M endorsement with a 9 restriction. This means that you will only be permitted to ride a three wheeled motorcycle".
Evidently if you have a class M without a restriction, you can ride 2 and 3 wheeled while with the 9 restriction, only 3 wheeled.

The Skills course here in illinois is a piece of cake, it is so simple it is laughable, takes all of 10 minutes, the hardest for a motorcyle 2 wheelers is zig and zagging around the cones. For Trikes you don't have to do that test because its impossible to do with a trike. Alleyoop
