Yes, the connector for the enrichner. The spades were not bent, one was broke off, repaired. I must have done it when checking wires for the no start problem. Starts much better when cold. Don B.

Sprocket, Yes I am glad it was a simple thing. Now if I could just get the idle fiqured out. Up and down. I think I have a vacuum leak. I will find out this weekend when my Grandson brings the scooter over. Don b.

I read about an unusual way to test for the leak which I think sounds safe. Use an unlit propane torch to spew some gas around the usual suspects and see if the idle goes up. Less mess and chemicals than the standard methods. Rich

Well even a safer way to check for leaks is use some spray bottle like from windex and fill it with water and spray water on the suspected areas same thing will happen the water will temporary seal the leak and your rpms will change. Thats what I use no danger of anything. Alleyoop

Up date, did not get to work on the scooter this weekend. Grandson said the weather is to nice and he wanted to ride. Then I got a call last night from my other Grandson, he bought the scooter from his cousin. Stated that after riding it for 3 hrs. (running fine). Stopped by his Mothers house went to leave and the scooter would idle fine but at 1/4 to 1/2 throttle it would bog down and not take any gas. I told him to feather the throttle and see if it would take gas, no go same thing. I thinking that it started running to rich or that the timing is not advancing (if it does)? Keep in mind that this scooter has a 72BBK, UNI filter and modded exhaust, stock carb. and head also stock cam. can not remember the main jet size but has 35 pilot jet. Any ideas/suggestion will be greatly appreciated. This scooter is going to be the death of me yet. I have used propane for years to check for vacuum leaks, unlit of coarse, Don B.

There is no spark advance on a GY6 engine. The spark is initiated from a pick-up coil on the flywheel.
How long was his stop?
Was the engine cold when he started it and it wouldn't run?
Water in the gas?
Perhaps the petcock is not opening? (Vacuum line leak?)
Check the fuel flow first to the carb and the spark at the plug... then we will go from there.

Sprocket, Well as usual Grandson did not show up with the scooter. He get side tracked easy, especially when he owes me money. So I can not answer questions, 1, 2, and 3. I changed the petcock to manual when I got the scooter. I will check the fuel flow and spark when it shows up. Don B.

He did turn the manual petcock 'on' when he went to start it? Just asking... because it has happened before...Check for vapour lock. Pull the gas cap and try to start it...
