Sprocket, Well as usual Grandson did not show up with the scooter. He get side tracked easy, especially when he owes me money. So I can not answer questions, 1, 2, and 3. I changed the petcock to manual when I got the scooter. I will check the fuel flow and spark when it shows up. Don B.

Up date, did not get to work on the scooter this weekend. Grandson said the weather is to nice and he wanted to ride. Then I got a call last night from my other Grandson, he bought the scooter from his cousin. Stated that after riding it for 3 hrs. (running fine). Stopped by his Mothers house went to leave and the scooter would idle fine but at 1/4 to 1/2 throttle it would bog down and not take any gas. I told him to feather the throttle and see if it would take gas, no go same thing. I thinking that it started running to rich or that the timing is not advancing (if it does)? Keep in mind that this scooter has a 72BBK, UNI filter and modded exhaust, stock carb. and head also stock cam. can not remember the main jet size but has 35 pilot jet. Any ideas/suggestion will be greatly appreciated. This scooter is going to be the death of me yet. I have used propane for years to check for vacuum leaks, unlit of coarse, Don B.

Sprocket, Yes I am glad it was a simple thing. Now if I could just get the idle fiqured out. Up and down. I think I have a vacuum leak. I will find out this weekend when my Grandson brings the scooter over. Don b.

Yes, the connector for the enrichner. The spades were not bent, one was broke off, repaired. I must have done it when checking wires for the no start problem. Starts much better when cold. Don B.

Sprocket, when I put the BBK in it, I also installed new carb., with new enrichner. I will check the wiring. I might have messed up the connection when trouble shooting for the no start problem. Don B.

Yes, I very much learned something trying to figure this problem out. But cold staring this scooter is a trip. You have to prime the heck out of the carb. But once it starts and warms up a little it is fine. All kinds of power and it has a 72cc kit in it with modded exhaust and a UNI filter. Grandson stated, that I should start a scooter repair shop, my answer, there is no freakin way. Again Thank you everyone for all the help. Don B.

Update, it lives again. Went over the wiring again, nothing wrong. Pulled new stator to check continuity on bl/w wire, none, bad connection, repaired. New hi-po coil, spark plug fell out of boot, connection in the boot(bakealite part) was so loose could not hold spark plug, used boot from old coil , good connection. New plug and were running. I guess I should have bought a better grade of Hi-po stuff. Oh well live and learn. Thank you guys for all your help. Don B.

Thanks for the replies guys. bige, I am going to go thru the wiring again. I have four grounds on the scooter, three I added from the battery negative side. sprocket, I am going to recheck the kill and igntion switches. You are right about the wire connectors, Chinese junk I have replaced about 90% with USA connectors and as far as I can tell they used acid core solder and they did not do a very good job at that. Thank you Rich & Dr.JR for your replies. Rich, the picture that you posted for Scrappy Doc is the one I bought along with Hi-po coil and CDI from Scrappy Doc. The air gap between pickup coil and flywheel magnet checks .032 and I see no way to adjust. Dr. JR, the wire colors thats in your reply are the same on the new stator and the old stator. I guess that it could be possible that the new stators pickup coil could be bad, as the old and new there is no ACV from blue and white wire. Any more ideas/suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Don B.

Rich, checked resistance on the pickup coil. 147.3 Ohms. Trigger magnet solid in flywheel/rotor. Magnetic field strong on inside of the flywheel (stator side). But very weak magnetic pull from trigger magnet. How much height should I have on the trigger magnet from flywheel? I am thinking about buying a new flywheel, but I am trying to fiqure out the difference between a 10$ one verus a 30$ one. Don B.

felliott, Thank you for your reply. This scooter has .032 air gap and I see no way of adjusting the pickup coil. Don B.

Sorry for the long delay in posting, but I have a small engine business and this time of the year, every body wants there equipment tuned up and maintenance done for the fall and winter (leaves and snow). So had to put the scooter on the back burner. Question on the flywheel/rotor how much air gap/space should I have between the magnet and the pickup coil on the flywheel? Could the magnet on the flywheel/rotor be worn down? Can anyone tell me what the height of the magnet on the flywheel/rotor should be? Thank you for your time. Don B.
