In a climate that is an ever changing climate one day you can be sunny and 70 and then turn around and the temp drops to 1 above zero. What can I do since I will be riding in winter the trip is only about 5 miles to dialysis. Or what can I do to help prevent a breakdown?

Hi classic50. My VIP50 is identical to your scoot. I have a mirror mount windshield which is a must for cold weather riding. You already have hand shields on this scoot so that is a plus. A full face helmet gives maximum cold weather protection. I use a modular helmet. I have also used ski gloves for additional hand protection. I like to use 5W-30 oil during the winter to help cold starting. Having a good quality AGM (sealed) battery of the highest capacity (amp-hours) is also a good idea for cold weather running. Here is a shot of my Slipstreamer windshield:

I'm sure I don't have to tell you though, you're the guy living with it. Gee Cruiser, a yellow vehicle off to the left in your pic........I'm stunned . OK, what to do to prepare for a winter emergency. If it was me I'd take a spare coil and CDI with me. I'd also go through all of the electrical connections and check your charge rate. Did I mention that electrical problems are the #1 reason for a breakdown? Rich

Make sure you put Sea Foam in the fuel tank. I use 1 ounce per gallon of fuel in the warm months and 1 1/2 ounces in cold weather. You can get it at Walmart. Read the label for all that is does.
