I just got a 1999 linhai powermaster 50 and it wont start. Have fuel and spark, good compression. I removed the reed valves and they look good, now I am lost. Who makes this engine and where do I get parts? Is it possible the auto choke is bad? Thanks for any help y'all can give. dan

Here is a very complete 2T manual that should help: Two Stroke ManualYou can get parts at Scrappy Dog two stroke page plus you can talk to "MO" about two stroke problems on that web site. Can you give us a little history on the scooter? Did it sit for a while, it's an older scooter so you could have all kinds of vacuum and hose issues. Usually, an auto-choke won't keep it from starting, it will just be hard to start and run like crap until it warms up. I'll see if I can get a couple of the two stroke guys to talk to you. Rich

I think that Rich has given you good advise, check the 2 stroke manual. Have you checked the CDI? I had a starting problem on my TGB Delivery 50 and it turned out to be the CDI failing. Does it turn over at all, ie: try to start but doesnt?

Get yourself a can of Carb Cleaner they come with a nice small diameter straw.Take the Carb Bowl off again Spray into every hole you see. The Spray should come out from some outlet passage inside the carb. Just cleaning the jets or reeds is not good enough, the passages that the gas comes out must also not be clogged.
Turn the IDLE SPEED Screw 1/4 turn Clockwise.
To see if it fires Take off the Vacuum Hose on the Intake and squirt a little gas in the nipple and put the hose back on then try to start it. If it fires then you know gas is not getting into the intake. Gas might be getting to your carb but not out into the intake. Alleyoop
