Hi Troops. Just wanted to show how an ENRICHER(CHOKE) works: Notice the Mark I put on next to the Rubber part. The Plunger is actually inside the hole about 1/8 of an inch. Alleyoop Cold Enricher Retracted Motor OFF: Warm Enricher Started to EXTEND Motor Running: Hot Enricher Fully EXTENDED Motor Running about 3 minutes: Here is a live Video of the Enricher(Choke) working: Scooter Enricher(Choke) and how it works. The Default of the Enricher(Choke) on a Scoot is the Plunger is Retracted when Cold. Once you start the Engine it receives Voltage and starts to Heat up the Element inside and the Plunger starts to Extend out to shut off the Extra fuel from coming in. It takes about 2-3 minutes for it to fully extend and it extends about 1/4 inch. Once fully Extended it completely blocks the fuel opening and no more extra fuel is feed to the engine. Once you shut the engine off the Plunger will Retract as it cools and it will be ready for the next cold start to allow extra fuel to the engine. Here is a live Video of the Enricher(Choke) working:

Nice job Alley, I always wondered how the enricher worked. Now as long as the engine is warm or hot the needle is extended?

Scooterran, No the engine has to be running, the voltage is fed off the stator that is the only time voltage is going to the Enricher. Once you shut the engine off no more voltaage is being fed to the Enricher and it will Retract as it cools. Alleyoop

Nice vid very informative. If I unplug the enricher from the electrical circuit my scoot still starts fine. (not to cold yet) Does that mean I would be running rich because the needle is not extending? Sorry for the dumb question (Pitty the noob)

Bongkaos, No question is dumb, and yes you will be running a little on the Rich side. But I you don't notice it then it is fine, you can also always try to compensate by leaning out your air fuel mixture to take some of the fuel away that the Enricher is feeding it. Besides when your running at high rpms a little on the rich side is good. Alleyoop

Thank you Alley. I put an uni filter on and striped a screw when tying to upjet. Thus no rejet I pulled the electrical connection on the choke thinking it may add more gas to the mix. The scoot seems to like it but, I'm worried about the cold weather.

Bongkaos, If you striped one of the 4 Carb Bowl Screws, you can get some new ones, also you can get them as Hex Screws that you would use a Allen wrench instead of a screw driver. You may even be able to fine the existing screws at your local hardware store.
And since you unplugged your Enricher it is always feeding more fuel so it likes that in cold weather. Alleyoop

To get it out, use pliers, as your turning it out PULL on it. It will come out the carb is made out of soft metal.
When you screw the bowl back on Screw them in evenly go from one corner to the Opposite corner etc.. And then SNUGE them down using using the Criss Cross method They do not need to be really tight just nice and SNUGE. Alleyoop
