Modification: Audible Turn Signal Alarm Relay By Bashan (Read 2,975 times)

After noticing my turn signals being left on a few times I decided to try my hand at wiring up an audible buzzer. So I did but one thing that drove me bonkers was listening to it buzz the whole time waiting for a stoplight. I think I've come up with a way to cancel the buzzing while stopped but have it continue while moving.

I added a small 12v relay to the commonly used buzzer circuit, wired to activate any time the brakes are applied. This disconnects the buzzer the whole time you have your hand on the brake.

Radio Shack Parts List:
2- Diodes RS # 276-1102
1- Piezo Buzzer RS # 273-059
1- Relay RS # 275-248
Total-less than $10

Here's a crappy drawing but you should get the idea. All of this is installed under the plastic behind the speedometer.

You have to find the following 4 wires:
R turn + (Goes to 12v when R flashes)
L turn + (Goes to 12v when L flashes)
Brake + (Goes to 12v when brake applied)
Ground



So now I get a beep-beep when my turn signals flash except when I have the brake on. I usually have the brake on lightly at a stoplight anyway, good to keep the brake light lit for approaching cagers...

I can vouch for the MOD, I already had the Turn Signal Beeper and it was driving me crazy at stop lights. Went to Radioshack and got the relay and installed it Per Cableguys instructions and it WORKS LIKE A CHARM
