Hey! That's an XS 650 Yamaha. It deserves to be rescued. If it was a Guzzi it should stay a planter.
Knowing that bike like I do, I'll bet all you have to do is change the oil, add gas and it would start right up where it sits.

Wow, how long do you have to leave a bike sitting like that leaned against a tree for that to happen?

That is priceless *Luke*. Thanks for posting that. Guzzis have the "V" engine transversely mounted so that when you look at them head on you see the V. It's like a boxer Beemer that bottomed out real hard! You don't like Guzzis KZ? How come? I always wanted one but never swung a leg over. Rich

I don't know about the new ones but in the seventies they were the poor man's BMW. They were lovely when new but troubles showed up fast in flimsy metal that required frequent service. It was almost an annual right to have to pull the motor to replace broken shift return springs. They also had chrome plated cylinders back then and the plating wore out at about 50,000 miles requiring a new set of cylinders. I'm sure now they use nikasil or something harder, but you'll probably be mired in some other electrical issue. Thanks, but I'd buy a used BMW or Japanese bike first. Old Gold Wings are everywhere for under $2000.
