So its freezing in NYC - like 24 degrees at night. Friday morning I went out to start my bike and could not pull the throttle, completely stuck. Can a throttle freeze in the cold or could this be something else?
Thanks!

Yes, if you leave the scoot outside it will get mositure inside the cable and will freeze. Alleyoop

Tianna67, Hairdryer will work, won't take much at all, rubber heats up pretty fast. Alleyoop

Thaw it out, then hit it with some WD-40. That will keep it from re-freezing.

Cyberbeer65 is correct: Click on the can for a fascinating history! WD-40 stands for Water Displacement-perfected on the 40th try. [/b][/center]

tianna dear,,you may need this to fascilitate injection of the wd40 inside the cable lining. www.mandp.co.uk/productInfo.aspx?catRef=523837 .... if you want a permanent solution: if you have an old neoprene diving suit that you no longer use,,,or wherever you can get a junky neoprene sheets,,cut it out and wrap it around the throttle cable ,make sure that the neoprene is wrapped to the cable tightly.you may need to use electric tape to secure it... this will prevent cold air from getting a direct contact to the cable...the thicker layers you wrap.. the better...good luck tianna and stay Hot!!.....(i mean, so there will be no more freezing of cables...lol)
