Good evening people I am new to the board, please go easy but i have a yy250t and i must say i love the thing it fits my lifestyle very well, i keep having a problem with it not starting, every time i turn the key the radiator fan starts, it could be early in the morning or late after work and the battery seems to be unable at time getting over using it's it energy on the fan and the starter, i have a trickler and that keeps the battery up but is it normal for the radiator fan to just start right up or is it connected to the thermostat and if it is where and how can i change it. thanks

Peter, I have the same bike, and had the same problem.. mine was simple to fix.. after some testing I pulled the lower rt panel off (below foot area) to get to the sensor (frt lower rt corner of the rad), and what I found was the wire loom over the rad hose was shorting from one side of the sensor to the other.. I had no extra hose length for rerouting the hose, so I just bent both terminals on the sensor 90 degrees to the outside, and then wrapped the wire loom with good elect tape in the general area of the sensor.. Check this out first, if the same thing is happening on your bike this will save a few hours of searching.. Good luck.. Dave

OK, that worked, I called over a friend who is a much better mechanic than myself and we followed the directions and it turned out that the sensor was loose and after tightening it down and making sure no other wires were touching it now performs as it should, now it turns out that yes the battery sux as well and i am replacing that today....thanks for the help people i really appreciate it, how about one more question, are there aftermarket radios that fit correctly on my scooter?
