Hello, just want to pass a great battery supplier on to the gang.. I have purchased several bike batterys from The Battery Geek on ebay, and not found a better deal anywhere.. Last July I purchased a new 200cca batt for my YY250T and it just failed on me 11 months later.. He includes a full 1 year warranty on his batteries, so I sent him a message asking how I need to go about returning the batt since it was still under warranty.. His reply was short and sweet.. "I have sent you a replacement" .. Just got it today (5 days), and couldn't be more happy.. If you need a good batt, at a great price I recommend him 100%.. stores.ebay.com/The-Battery-Geek?_rdc=1Happy scooting all... Dave PS: not the easiest site I have ever used though.. Type AGM in the search on his site.. this will bring up what you need

Peter, I have the same bike, and had the same problem.. mine was simple to fix.. after some testing I pulled the lower rt panel off (below foot area) to get to the sensor (frt lower rt corner of the rad), and what I found was the wire loom over the rad hose was shorting from one side of the sensor to the other.. I had no extra hose length for rerouting the hose, so I just bent both terminals on the sensor 90 degrees to the outside, and then wrapped the wire loom with good elect tape in the general area of the sensor.. Check this out first, if the same thing is happening on your bike this will save a few hours of searching.. Good luck.. Dave

22, I would only do one thing in your place.. I would open the variator, clean out the nasty grease, weigh the rollers, and order a new set a 2-4 grams lighter.. You won't believe the difference.. About $15.00 invested and what a difference.. I haven't dealt with monstergy6, but know for a fact these people are great.. here is a link for the rollers, but they have every part you could ever need, and in fact I think they are still running a sale if you use "perf15" in the discount code.. If you call them they will help you out.. be sure to select USPS shipping, (its much cheaper and faster).. www.partsforscooters.com/169-146_GY6_Roller_Weights?sc=11&category=74091Good luck, and happy Thanksgiving..Dave

Ax, Had a very similar sound from mine.. turned out that the air filter mounting screw had backed out.. you can't believe how much noise that filter bouncing around in there makes.. Be sure to check that out as well.. Good luck.. Dave

Hello all.. Finally found the correct size drain plug for my odd ball Linhai/Vog scooter.. I ended up buying 10 (make minimum order) of the "Type II Linhai" plugs with the 36mm thread (looks different than orig, but works perfectly).. This cap looks just like your standard GY-6 type cap, but has the 36mm thread and comes with a new o-ring, so if anyone has trouble finding one just email me, and I will Priority ship you one for $15.00 through PayPal.. rdavid885@aol.com
I also ended up with a few of the 35mm thread standard 250B type plugs, so would sell you one of those if your in a bind..
This is even easier though, if your bike has 35mm threads, below are the Yamaha part numbers so you can just pick one up at your local Yamaha dealer.. They sell them for about $8.00 if in stock.. 5RU 15351 00 00 or 4HC 15351 00 00
Also, if you break a drain cap on your standard GY-6 or the Honda/Cf Moto style 250 scooter here is the Honda part #.. 12361-300-000
Really hope you don't break your drain cap, but if you do this should help... Happy scooting all.. Dave

akafrost, I got lucky getting fuel for my scooters and bike.. A local station here started to sell 93 octane prem fuel without ethanol added to it.. In Oregon ethanol is required in fuel (10-15%), but there is a loop hole for classic vehicles, and off road riding.. So if there is someone working I don't know I will just stop back later, or fill my 5 gallon can and then fuel at home.. My bike is the twin to Cruisers and it purrs just fine on this fuel.. Happy scooting.. Dave

My riding partner has the twin to your bikes except in "boring blue".. I am wondering what weights you found in your bike's?.. His rollers haven't been touched, and would like to do some changing like I just did.. I know the only sure way to see what he has is to do the same I did and tear it down and weigh them one at a time.. He doesn't mind taking a chance and ordering some before we tear into it though, that way if we got the correct weight we can just install them, and be done with the job with one tear down... Thanks, Dave

Cruiser, Thanks for the info.. makes sense to me.. I was going to ask what if any changes you had made to your variator since we have twins, but decided to just jump in and lower the average weight by 3g each.. No regrets whatsoever.. Next time I will go the slider option, but I couldn't pass up the hot deal I got on these rollers.. I was pleased that I found good quality grease inside mine, and not overloaded at all.. I used the Honda Helix manual for putting mine back together, and just used a minimum of good grease .. I am also quite happy I am now cruising in the 5k range, long engine life, and much quicker throttle response than lugging around from 3-4k all the time.. Thanks again.. DaveR

speed, What works for me is a super short stem I picked up at my local tire dealer.. The ones I use are called lawnmower/atv stems.. They are so short you have plenty of room for air chucks or tire pressure gauges on them.. Last trip in they just gave me a handfull, and since they are being used by a business with huge liablity issues you can be sure they are good quality.. There are several good posts for the "how to's", but really all you need is a nice LARGE c-clamp, piece of leather or rubber to protect the back of your wheel, and a good source of air to get the tire reseated back on the rim.. Good luck, Dave PS: the maker is usually listed on the bottom written around the center air passage.. Most any "real" brand name should be fine..

Joe, First off, like Rich says, the lights are prob a seperate problem.. I would say there is a 90% chance your just trying to start your bike with a nearly dead battery.. It takes no amps to turn a starter that isn't installed, but soon as it's engaged thats a different deal.. Make sure your battery has a full charge, and if needed jump it from a auto battery.. (DO NOT have the auto running when doing this).. If your still having the same problem, then there is probably something else wrong.. (Ground wires been cleaned and tightened?) Let us know how its going.. Good luck... Dave

Lucky, Those valves can be removed without any problem.. Usually all you need to do is work just a bit of slack down so the line will reach without kinking.. You don't need any different hardware, just toss the valve.. Been done many times when people were trying to fix issues.. Glad that you made yours work, have to remember what you found to be the problem.. This really is a common problem people have... Happy scooting.. Dave

Scootaway, Logic tells me your right.. I am at a loss to explain it, but my engine sure likes the lighter rollers better.. I do know that I am running quite a bit more rpm's by the time the clutch locks up though.. Whatever the reason, I'm a happy camper.. Dave

Hello all.. Just back from a nice ride.. Wow, what a difference new rollers make.. I have been fighting what I thought was a grabby clutch since my YY250T was new, and everything I did to it was only a temporary fix.. Well, I took out the factory rollers (3x26g and 3x24g) and replaced them with this set in 22g www.partsforscooters.com/169-150_250cc_Roller_Weights?sc=2&category=124390 .. Now with the lighter rollers my engine can come up to a decent rpm before the clutch engages, seems it was just lugging the engine down before because it was locking up in the low 2000 rpm range.. This bike has never really ran over about 4000 rpm except down hill, I am now able to get in the 5000 rpm range just taking off from a stop.. Well, all the grief I dealt with and it was simply to high of gearing.. To anyone having similar issues I would recommend you remove and open your variator, and weigh those rollers, you might just need to put in a lighter set.. This really is a cheap and easy fix.. I am sure the factory rollers might of been great for a 120 lb rider, but not for me.. Good luck and happy scooting all.. Dave
