What is a good RPM gauge to install on a 150cc scooter and where is a good place to purchase said guage? Also, I agree with Alleyoop that this is a great site(from another thread).

Why an RPM gauge? The only thing they are good for is 'shift points' when you don't use a clutch. A scooter is continuous powered so the reading of RPM are basically pointless...
Just wondering....

Well I use mine to determine what my idle is and to set it where I want it 1500 rpms. Also when testing what weights are the best, the rpms help determine that. If you do not want the engine to be running near the Red Line the tach is indespensible. Or to decide which weights will let the engine run near or at its powerband or where you want the rpms to be at wot. Alleyoop

OK, perhaps... for tuning the CVT... I would rather put the money into a NYC CDI with no rev limit and a spark advance..
Hey whatever turns your crank...

Nice, I just emailed the seller if the battery can be changed if it goes bad or depletes or is it a throwaway.
Sprocket, A tach I feel is very important to moniter your engine. You can tell a lot on how your engine is running by the tach. You cannot depend on your ears to determine the rpms it is running at. If you loose a few 100 rpms you cannot tell by hearing it.
I don't need one because mine has one built into the instrument panel, and I do have a NYC CDI as well ;D Alleyoop

It's a sealed unit so the battery cannot be replaced. Typical life is 5 to 7 years.

Ok, the seller just responded and here is his answer: Battery can not be changed, battery life is 8+ years. Thanks for your interest! Scott
Now the question is HOW LONG has it been sitting on the shelf? Alleyoop

If battery life is a concern, then you can always buy one directly from the manufacturer for $37 shipped. That should give you maximum life and also a direct link in case of problems. ENM satisfactorily handled a problem I had with my first unit.

I do not like items that have a sealed battery and the product is a throwaway. Never know if the battery will go dead sooner than later due to a defect. I am sure the product is not guaranteed for very long probably 1 year at the most. Alleyoop
