Finished putting my new tires on today. Mounted them myself and then I had to take them to the local tire shop because my compressor did not have enough nads to pop the bead. Cleaned up the wheels and they were so dirty, I had to scrub them twice. I also found out the PO ran the brake pads down to nothing. Literally, there was NO pad left on either the inside or outside. Also looks like it has been like that for a while because the rotor looks worn down so I need to order a new set. Maybe between the nose rings, lip rings, eye ring and most likley a weeny ring, he could not figure out what the high pitched squealing was...DUH! I also gave it a quickie bath even though there is still snow on the ground. Still lots of cleaning left to do but it is starting to shape up. Not bad for $375!

$375.00!!!! How many miles? What caliber pistol were you using? What a steal!!!!!! If it runs as good as it looks you made out like a bandit! That is a serious top trunk. Seriously, a good buy any way you look at it. Congratulations!

Thanks for all the kind words. I watched this on CL from this past summer. The PO was from Akron and since I watch CL everyday, I saw this and he was saying using textese that the spark plug wire was bad and he wanted around $900. Mid summer he came down to $700. I even sent him an e-mail telling him I would trade my Roketa 150 straight up and he said no. This fall he was down to $500 and I had a tough time talking the wife into it. He posted and said for one day it was $400. I took a trip to Akron on a Sunday and bribed a buddy with a truck with lunch for the ride. Offered the guy $350 and he said $375 and I said..."SOLD"
We hauled it home and I stuffed it in my shed. I posted on CL my Roketa and even though it was winter, I had three serious bites. The first lady who lived about 3 miles from me bought it for asking price. The nice thing is I made enough profit from the Roketa to pay for the Lance. I also bought: starter-$30 battery-$25 Solenoid-$18 tires-$62 The tires are the first thing I have had to pay for outside the money made from the Roketa. Also the lady I sold the Roketa to and myself are going riding this spring. Long story I know.

Not a LONG story but a darn good one. You made some real good deals and probably kept smiles on a few faces to boot. Great color. Hows it run? Enjoy and ride safe. M/C

Thanks everyone, It has 2641 miles and I know the trunk is HUGE but it is a Lance trunk and it is bigger than most inside also so it will fit a full faced helmet and a jacket. It is also spring loaded so that makes it easier to load. It also is going to add support for any riders I take with me. I also got a matching full faced helmet with the deal. I stripped everything out of the inside and put all the padding in the washer. Put it all back together and cleaned up the overspray on the outside. It does have some nicks but it will fit my wife and daughter perfectly, too small for my fat head.
I also think it is smaller than let's say a Roketa 250, but I have not checked the spec sheet for dimensions yet. I thought the 250 would have a lot more leg room than the 150 but I have not fealt that yet. I also prefer the windshield that is attached to the cowl rather than this one which is part of the handlebars.
As far as it running, so far so good, I have been starting it about twice a week since replacing the starter, battery and solenoid, and cleaning the carb. All I do is bump the starter and it fires up immediately. I have only gone through the parking lot in the school across the street just to shake out any bugs but so far so good. I am trying to get any big projects taken care of now while it is not riding season and tweak and work on small things that will not disable the bike for several days to fix. Like I said, I have to put new pads on the rear. I still need to change oil and take the front fairing apart and adjust the mirrors so I can see more than the muffler and the back seat.
I am NOT crazy about an all black scoot and thought about two-toning it. The Lance web page has one that is two-toned with the small panels just behind the footboards painted a different color. I thought about painting mine silver to brighten up the black a bit and then adding some silver pinstriping but not sure yet. I already have new lettering for the sides as you can see in the picture, I had to repair and paint the one panel that was cracked and the other side they are just torn off.
If I decide I don't like it, I can always sell it for a profit and buy something more to my liking. There's ALWAYS something on CL. Got to get some, "miles and smiles" on it first.
