I bought some Motul 10W40 4 Stroke non-synthetic for break-in. After reading through the Scooter Doc manual I saw what seemed to be recommendations for standard auto/diesel oils. Is it better to use a non-scooter oil? I have Amsoil scooter oil in transit for the 1000 mile replacement. I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row before delivery so I can slap this baby together and get scooting!
Guess I should add this too, gear oil, can you go straight to synthetic or does it need a break-in with conventional before switching?

Any good dino (non synthetic) 10W-30 or 10W-40 oil is good for break-in. Most people like to go 800 to 1000 miles before switching to synthetic. The oil you have is fine. Synthetic gear oil can be used immediately for longest gear life.
