swh22 has found the problem with his 250 scooter!!! I was having variator noise so I bought a brand new variator and sliders, Didn't stop the noise so I finally took the variator off and cranked scooter and noise was still there!!! I guess the crankshaft bearing is bad on my 2009 redstreak 250 navigator with 4400 miles on it!!! I wish dealer would have found problem before my warranty ran out but you really can't tell the difference in sound from bad bearing and weight clatter from variator!!! I was going to put a washer behind the variator but I heard bearing noise so that kind of sat me in the dirty floor looking at my wallet!!! lol!!! Now I'm wondering what's it going to cost me to replace bearing!!! I hope my harley don't tear up anytime soon!!! lol!!!

Cannot say how long it would take guessing 2 hours, Labor whatever they charge per hour, some charge more than others. But they usually run from 60-90 bucks an hour. If It is your Crank Bearings I would just put in a New Crank and not mess with the old crank at all. It would be actually easier for the mechanic to put in a New Crank than to put on new bearings on the Crank.
Bearings go out due to lack of oil, not changing the oil frequent enough bad cheap bearings from china and the metal they were made out of etc.. Alleyoop

I don't know what a crank goes for your scoot but I would say at least 150-200 for the crank and another 200.00 for labor, so I estimate 400-500 bucks. Alleyoop
