okay heres how it goes. a friend laid down my scooter about a month ago and i've been repairing it since. One of the main issues was he broke the clutch assembly. This caused my belt to snap which in turn broke the roller weights. I didn't know. I replaced the ENTIRE clutch. i drove it and the second belt snapped a week later. opened it up found the roller weight ground in half. replaced roller weights. scooter was making weird noise and wouldn't hold top end properly. opened it up again found out the NEW roller weight had ALSO ground in half. Replaced ENTIRE front pully system. Now.......heres where it makes zero sense. The second belt was checked for wear and tear and found zero. Put belt back onto completely NEW clutch and pully. So i basicly had a new transmision. Second belt just snapped. I just replaced all this a week ago. Someone please explain why even with everything brand new the second belt still snapped.

So you bought a new Vairator and complete Clutch assembly or just parts of each? What kind of belt do you have on it. I see your in AZ where it is hot, HEAT kills belts more than anything. Did you check if the Pulley faces are smooth and did not get damaged which would tear up a belt in no time. Alleyoop

Here is what I would do, I would take the CVT cover off and put it on the Stand and run it and check if the belt is flooping around and hitting any part of the Kickstart gears. Also as it is running check if the Clutch pulley is wobbleing and not running true. There is only one Bearing holding the Clutch shaft it could be shot and hanging up once it gets hot. Also since he laid it down have you checked the Tranny oil and make sure none leaked out and it is low on oil. The bearing and gears that drive Clutch Drives are behind the Clutch held on only by a Plate with 5 bolts. It may be out of line and or like I said the bearings behind it. Alleyoop

That may be it the Shaft that the Clutch goes on is only held by the Plate that you can take off and behind it is a short Shaft that has a Gear on it and that goes into a Bearing on the Case of the engine. As the Clutch turns it turns the Short shaft which in turn turns the Big Gear that turns the shaft going through the wheel.
But the weak link if laid down and messed up the Clutch would be the one bearing on the Plate that holds the Clutch Shaft and also the Bearing that the Short Shaft goes into which is turned by the Clutch Shaft. Herer is a picture of what it looks like behind the plate. Alleyoop

I am betting the bearing or bearings are bad and locking up on you on the one of the shafts. Good luck man let me know Alleyoop
