Scoot arrived Tuesday, been working on PDI and took it out tonight for the break-in. Drive like a dream, I remember when driving aimlessly in my car used to be fun. The scoot was great to run around on with no purpose but to put miles on it!

Good luck with your new scootercycle. Looks like she'll do 120mph without even starting up.

Thanks everyone! I drove the scoot to work today 40 mile round trip and it ran great. She also got caught in her first flash rainstorm, the shipping folks didn't tell me my cover and brake lever had arrived . I happened to check the tracking number and noticed they had been delivered. Went down and grabbed the box, walked up 3 flights of stairs and noticed it was sprinkling. Ran down the 3 flights, hit the back door, and lo and behold a sheet of rain greeted me.... Needless to say, no point in covering the scoot at that point. Sun came out after 5 minutes and it was almost dry by time to go home. Fortunately I had put a towel in the helmet box this morning when I dried the dew off the seat. She kept up with traffic even in the 50mph sections, and it was great getting the 2-wheel wave from bikers and a scooterist on the way!

New To The Forum Here I have been doing a lot of research on 150cc scooters as a starter for myself and I came across this same model awhile back. I want a scooter similar to this (more motorcycle-like) and under $1500. As someone totally clueless to scooters, how difficult is the PDI on this model? Also, where did you find yours 13lky2? I went to a local store that looked more like a repair center and they advised never to buy online. Please help!!!

I got it here: www.thriftyscooters.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4&products_id=923It was back ordered so I had to wait a month for it to arrive. They used to have black and white models also but those are discontinued. Only issues I had with delivery were that the right hand brake lever had been snapped off about an inch up from the ball. This went unnoticed until hours after the truck left. The PDI wasn't bad but the valve cover is a beast to get off due to the layout. I received a model manufactured 11/30/2010 and I still had to replace all of the lines as they were terrible. I verified this by leaving one vacuum and one fuel on to see how they would hold up. Within a month, both were cracking. The main thing to know on these and I will assume the regular Hornet model is that alot of the standard GY6 body parts like fenders etc won't work on this without mods. I have ordered several things that are now desk ornaments until I have time to mod something up. Other little items like the spiffy rear shock, actually ended up being a royal pain as it offsets the rear clearance which is keeping me from using a hugger fender and going to a 150/70/13 tire. I have replaced about half of the bolts so far as the original ones either strip out or the "chrome" finish on them has started to splinter. The only real item I checked that would have been a safety issue if I hadn't known to check was the front axle was not torqued to spec. It was at ~20ft lbs of torque. This model and the Hornet are the only 2 that I have seen that are pretty much motorcycle frames with a scooter motor. If you have anymore questions, feel free to shoot me a pm.
