Help! I broke the wifes camera. By mheinemeyer (Read 1,306 times)

OK people. As I stated in another thread, I broke the wifes camera. Yes, I took it out to the shop and took some scooter pics and I put it on the work bench....can you see what comes next?
I reached for a wrench and the camera hit the cement and went kablooie. This happened a couple of days ago and she still does not know. I plan on getting up early tomorrow and buying her a new camera. My question is...what are my odds at getting away with this? Lets get the vegas odds. I will let you all know how it went tomorrow night.

Your as we like to call it up the CREEK with out a Paddle. So you better buy one that is way better than the one you broke so maybe she wont be as upset when you tell her you broke it... LOL

A good camera to buy is one I bought at Radio Shack its a 14.1 mega-pixel for $99 and I've not seen a point and shoot camera that is better than that out there. Yes I know if you want to spend the $$ which I dont have that luxury this is the best I could afford and I've had it a year and not let me down yet. I thought I'd offer my 2 cents

Don't buy the 99 dollar camera! You will be in the doghouse forever!!!! Remember, I am female. I know these things!! You need to get a nice camera. Nice being the keyword. Not cheap.

She probably loved that camera. She won't hate you for breaking it. She will still love you (if she is a "typical" wife, if there is such a thing). But she will really miss her camera. The only way to ease that pain, is to get another camera a little better than the one she broke. Trust me on this one ;D

Mcalli, I was thinking the same thing. I was thinking of one that takes HD video as well and of course a large SDHC card. Well, I am off to the store.

Enquiring minds want to know. WHAT HAPPENED? What camera did you end up getting? For that matter what camera did you break?

Great plan. I especially like the part about nickle corona's.
Well, I did get the wife a new camera. I walked in with it still in the sack and said to her
that I bought her a present to which she replies " really, would did you get me" then in
almost the same breath, she says " Wait, what did you do?" Women....Really, always so un trusting. Then I explained that I took her camera out to the shop and it fell off the bench.
Now she is just standing there, mouth open with a confused and somewhat angry look. At this time she forgot all about the sack I was holding. She said "What the hell were you doing with my camera out in the shop?" I tried to explain but then I just gave her the new camera.
I ended up getting her a Canon EOS rebel slr. She looked at it and just said "WOW". Then she said (everyone should know what comes next) "You do not touch this one". Of course, in anticipation of this, I bought myself a cheap Samsung. Then some friends stopped by and then some friends who driving by saw their car, so they stopped and so on. We ended up having a party at our house (good timing). My wife is a calm now and playing with her new camera as I write this. So All is right in the Heinemeyer household once again (til I screw up again, that is).

glad all worked out. Good choice on camara but should have got for yourself too...... She will love the quality of the photos from it.

OK so where are the scoot pics? You got 2 new cameras (nice save BTW) You broke one camera and had to buy Two replacements. His and Hers.

There is a lesson to be learned here. If you bought yourself a new camera without breaking the old one you would still be in the doghouse!!!

Since you replaced the broken one and made sure you never have to use it your a Hero. You came up with a Win , Win situation. 2 New cameras and no arguments, congrats!!!!!
