Went to fill up at that place on getting back from trip and price is now down to $1.37 9 but all pumps but one were in use (bag tied over nozzle) and a tanker was delivering more gas so I drove 10 miles closer to home and paid .18 more a gal. Still only cost me less than 2 bucks more to fill, too dam tired to wait in line for the cheap stuff.

$2.36 9 for a fill this morning. and 24.5 mpg for city driving on that cheap gas! Prices still scare me, when some thing is too good to be true.......The gas companies have us by the gonads as we are so dependant on gas and if and when they decide to put the screws to us we will be in trouble for sure.

Its not if it is when. Now is the time for a deal on a Prius. I'm thinking about it too. John

Spring is finally here, and so are higher gas prices. Paid $3.099 a gallon for non ethanol yesterday........will probably be back up to the $3.50 range soon. Oh well, I guess if you want to dance, you have to pay the fiddler.

This past summer I traded in my 35 mpg gas guzzlers for a 41 mpg Scion iA. I took it down to Myrtle Beach on I-95 and saw 45 mpg. These new cars are amazing and it makes the 750 Kawasaki look like a luxury at only 50 mpg. I still have a fleet of fuel efficient bikes when gas climbs again but it's nice to be spending so little every week right now.

I got rid of my malibu last may and bought a new Nissan versa. Wow what a difference. Its rated 40mpg and I am getting almost that in short trips around town. Have yet to take a longer trip and have a little over 4000 miles on it so far. The room in my garage/shop is terrific compared. Should have done that along time ago.

No posts on this thread in over a year and a half......thought I'd jump in and complain about having to pay $3.499 a gallon for real gas, around here lately. Then I went back to page #1, and realized that prices were actually higher 6 and a half years ago. Can't think of anything else selling cheaper today, than it did in December of 2011. So, I guess gasoline is a real bargain today.....maybe I should park the scooter, and use the Silverado more often.

Gas got to near $3.00 a gallon for a while but it's dropped to around $2.90 for most stations. Down on Long Island we paid $2.77. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop but my car runs around 40 mpg and the bikes near 70 mpg.
