Well I double checked so....on My 300cc Magnum (Silver Bullet), I get 49.5 mpg and it is flat land here in Florida. Seems very low to me, was thinking 60-65 mpg.
I do have a problem axle gear box causing extra drag but still seems low. Some of you Magnum Rider ....please let me know what your getting. Also, spark gap seems best at .026, what works best for others?

I run my 180 cc a tad wet for longevity cooling issues and only get about 55 mpg about 90 octane and snyth oil, cold carb- no EPA heat returns hooked up.

EARTHMAN
Was cleaning air box and filter today and found that the strap on carb/intake had cut thru......gonna get new intake from ATV shop in AM. mPH may go up?
I built a steel braket for frame and carb but did not adjust and mount. I sure will now...Gonna cut back the cheap air filter hose and use drain pipe sleve to carb and box much better fit abd easy removal as carb will be locked in place from top of engine, no more up and down on intake.

hI mike !
on first "feeling glance" it is a desire of many to open air intake and sometimes it works great because of leaks in the "passage" from filter to head, but many folks have just heated up their engine and only gained 3 miles worth of speed, at the cost of the bikes longevity.
But the fact is a oiled filter will never clean air like a high micron paper one.
Plus you are displacing oxygen with oil vapor on a uni, a be it little tho.
I have talked to some guys who went with a uni and spent weeks getting it (bike) back to the running normal they had before install, tho many pop on and work great.
That swerved path to carb is there to compensate the cyclone turbulence and drag normal to any air path, i wish you all the good i can muster on such a mod, but must tell you, taping the connection leaks with tape, a layer of high temp silicon at the intake connection like the factory used and vacuuming the paper filter most times will never let you down.
You really gotta think a minute about trying to hype up a little gy 6, if you get it to its greatest burn and power are we not just burning it out ?
I think the greatest mods are those that bring the bike into "STEADY STATE EFFICIENCY" which includes not just speed and power but longevity.
If you want to do a great mod, get the air box to stop sucking hot air from the engine area and re route the air intake to get cold air away from the bikes interior heated area.
I run wet to save the engine, with only 180 cc's and not being willing to mess with water cooling, the main thing on my mind is keeping the timing chain path cool and never going more then half throttle, which gets me 50 mph by the DOT radar sign on my street.
When i started my mods i was running about 20 degrees hotter then i do now, I see xingyues with 15 and 20,000 miles on them, that's my goal.
when i want a super ride i start rubbing my girlfriends back, who is another space in my life i have modified with poetry, flowers and good health.
All things in balance.
