My wife contacted the credit company the day of. they took notes but didn't issue a dispute number yet pending response from PSM. I agree that the dispute should start now and not wait for 2 or 3 weeks to see if any pieces happen to find their way across the ocean. Although I do want to play the 'nice' card first, I'll have a hard time waiting for a few weeks before deciding that nothing is in fact happening.
***To all reading this and trying to make sense of why I even considered accepting this - I thought about that this morning on the can... I'll change engines in my car or truck on the weekend. Had an exhaust manifold leak on the V10 truck, put headers on it. Replaced all steering components on the Lincoln last fall including the control arms, and updated 1st to 2nd shift servo with a blue spring and new piston in the tranny.
So - a broken tail light, and replacment of body panels is something done casually with the stereo playing in the garage and a beverage at my side. It doesn't make it right for me to have a transaction like this, but sometimes I see it easier to take care of it myself, my way, as long as they cooperate.
Not everyone would be able to handle it in this fashion and i understand.

Well the body is shot to hell....but I bet the engine and other components are no doubt A1.

Ahh - I didn't know there was a Jonway warehouse there. Fingers crossed that since PSM won't be touching it, I may have a chance at a better shipment.

Ron, I'm sorry to hear about all the bangs and scrapes on your new scoots. Check this out: s483.photobucket.com/albums/rr195/cruiser66-bucket/YY250T%20shipping%20damage/?albumview=slideshowThe shipping crate actually did not look too bad as seen in the pictures. Was I surprised when I lifted the box and all the contents poured out like a broken egg. This was an all cardboard packing container. I immediately called the vendor and sent pictures by e-mail. I told them I was willing to repair the problems if they sent me the parts and they agreed to this. Within 2 weeks I received a few parts which was about 1/3 of what I needed. I could not get a firm answer as to when the rest would show up. I went to my credit card statement online and disputed the charge. I immediately was issued a dispute number and the charge and accrued interest was removed from my account pending resolution. This produced results in that a large box full of parts arrived in about a week. They shipped a replacement for every damaged piece shown in the pictures. However, it was all in black. I repaired the original yellow parts and used them and now have about 80% replacement parts in black as a back up. I was thinking about doing a black and yellow (bumblebee) scoot. I naturally did not release the dispute because the replacement parts were the wrong color. The vendor did not have any paint for this scoot and I think this is true for all the Chinese scoot vendors regardless of the color of the scoot. I was able to squeeze out a 10% refund and I released the hold on the funds. This process took about 3 months. There, unbelievably, was nothing mechanically wrong or broken aside from a few bent brackets which I straightened. I also had no scrapes like on your scoot, so the paint aside from one crack looks very good. My credit card company backed me up and kept the charge off my account until the problem was resolved. I don't think there is any mechanical damage to your scoot, but I found it would be actually cheaper to replace the scratched plastic with the original color (if you can find it) than to have it painted professionally at a motorcycle customizing dealer. You probably could save some money by going to an auto or boat repair shop. Do-it-yourself is of course the most cost effective way. You know that the scooter docs are behind you if you have any questions. Good luck in resolving this to your satisfaction.

Glad to see I'm not the only one with this kind of experience. Could you - in a non-slamming but informative way - mention who you purchased thru We are being sent a letter from the credit card company and have had the charges reversed, and are supposed to send the pictures of damage back to the credit card company for their file. Not sure why we couldn't do it electronically. Now I have to waste ink on this experience as well, or maybe send to Walmart, might be cheaper(?) It was actually your ride that got me to buy a yellow one. The guy who jumped in with me bought red. Damn - sun is shining after a week of rain. I should be riding! Hopefully hear something soon.

Grocerygetter, my basket case came from BikeZdirect which is no longer in business. I wonder why. Even my wife wondered how a unit like these could be shipped with paper towel rolls for crating! I got the tin strength angle iron, but some butthead undone pieces at some point and let them flail around for a few thousand miles. And I guess the fork truck drivers couldn't get under the skid on the red one and kept smashing into it until they did. Someone out there must be better at this. It would be nice to see how each dealer ships - or is it dependant on the warehouse?

grocerygetter Many state laws prohibit the use of net for documentation purposes. Also there is a logic that says always buy as close to the destination address as possible. I like the idea of as close as possible, but who is near the north east?

Received 3rd scooter this morning. Will post complete write up in Dealer Experiences. Looks great, not a scratch. Very happy 2nd time around - now to deal with these other 2 damaged ones in my garage.
