You have to go UP on the roller/Sliders weights NOT DOWN. Going up on the weights wil give you mor top end and at the same time lower your rpms. I believe the red line is 8000 and the 150s produce the max horsepower around 7500. Rollers= For every gram up or down it will change your RPMS by 500-600 Sliders= For every gram up or down it will change your RPMS by 200-350. So weigh your current weights and buy accordingly to get your rpms down a little over 7000 rpms at WOT and it should do around 50mph. Mark your variator like so and crank that sucker up and see how much of a mark is left on the Variator. You want about 1/8 mark left on the variator and that will be that is all she wrote. Alleyoop

Gotcha, thanks for the correction Alley! Not to thread jack but I will assume that at the point where you have the belt extending up the ramp to the proper height this is when you look at a re-gear?

Thanks Ally, and all others. In haste I reported the 8200 rpm thing wrong the GPS was 49 mph at 8200 rpm, not 42 MPH. At any rate the engine is overspeeding on downhills if I go WOT, which I have stopped doing. The 150, on lay away, with good deposit is sidetracked. ( Seller refused offer on house). Right now I guess I need to do something to 50 because it is used to go to town all the time. $ needs to be spent to keep the 50 healthy right now ( saves me 40 bucks a week going to work alone). Looking at what was said by all of you how does this sound? Taller gear to drop the over rpm, lighter variator sliders, to pull hills better, and probably clutch changes and a new belt. ( I have noted the start off rpm is no longer 300 to 3500 rpm but between 3500 and 4000. In good conscience I would not be able to sell Wildfife not running properly, I'm not made that way. (Little disapointed too, Real Estate agent was super sure seller would accept offer).

Unlimited CDIs may give you a very small advantage if you tune the CVT, but you also run the risk of over-reving the engine and it explodes... 4 sure dont want to burn one up.

He does not need a CDI, it is already revving in the 8200 range which is well above where it makes the Max horsepower. He actuall needs to lower it rpms. And that is good because to lower them All he needs is Heavier weights and that will also give him a little more top end. Alleyoop
