now that ive gotten my bike to run it intermitenly bogs down if i hold the thottle opened it picks up runs great other then that 65 with lots of throttle to go dont want to get a ticket 4 speeding on her i guess i need to do the water test how do u test the air control valve?

That is great that it is running now. Ok, now you have to explain in detail at what point it BOGS down. Right from the Start or in the middle range around 40 or only at top speed. Try this trick it will let you know what is causeing the BOG RICH or LEAN.
When it starts to BOG BACK OFF the throttle a little about 1/4 inch or so and HOLD IT THERE: a. If it SPEEDS up your LEAN-need more juice b. If it Sutters, Hesitates, Bogs THEN Settles down or Speeds up your RICH- to much juice.
Then we can work on that probem.
What do you mean water test for AIR CONTROL VALVE WHAT AIR CONTROL VALVE? Alleyoop

last pass it sped up could my exhaust valve be closeing to soon leaveing gases still trapped inside? i was thinking about trying to reset the valve after the engine warms up because meatel shrinks when it gets hot so maybe if i do that and set it at .005 on exhaust instead of .007where i have it now or should i set it by useing 2 gauges to =.006 and go that rute runs very strong should do well over80 i think 65 was no problem at all its still full of antifreeze but its going up to 3 quaters pretty quick so i put it on the hill like i said and it toke an ounce or so went back to halfway should that be where the heat range should be it was 90 some here in arkansas if i ease on the gas it doesnt pop through the carb any it just slugish to get going plug is lite brown in color the thing is keeping me up the slide pin is set on the top notch theres a whole next to the pin whole on both my next to the slide pin the should that be there or did they do something to me?thanx 4 your help sorry 4 calling it an air control valve th vacum control on the top air cleaner side of the carb anything on this hidden inricher screw i saw a thread 4 but no picture of where it is looked at my old carb andit looks like it is rite on the engine side of carb just below thethrought 90 degrees from the air fuel mixture

i mean the engine side when i shut the bike off it sometimes backfires through the carb so when i speak of back fire thats what im talking about not afterburn when it comes out the exhaust system so hope that helps u help me thanx so much its driving me crazy this is why i dont work on engines much anymore
