Roy, In your picture you on need it on the right side so the axle does not come out. It is not going to move in only out. Alleyoop

Alley, I know it only needs one side. I'm thinking I might just move the collar that is screwed to the tube against the large outer bearing.

Roy,
If you have a welder, you can just weld a piece of pipe that fits onto the axle on the Right side. The upgraded axles have a piece of pipe welded as the Stopper and then the one on the Left with the Floating Ring with the Screw through the Tube to hold it in place just like you have it. Alleyoop

Alley,
I can't weld very good. Set screws will be easy. I would rather use a thrust bearing, they will last longer than a floating ring. The thrust bearing is only about $15.00.
